Cube38 – Life Change

Life changes come in two verities:

  • slow & steady
  • sudden

This cube deals with the second time, looking at part of an episode of the tv show In Plain Sight [season 1, episode 7 – Iris Doesn’t Live Here Anymore].

In Plain Sight is about US Marshals Mary Shannon & Marshall Mann supporting people in the Witness Protection Program. Every person in the Witness Protection Program had their lives suddenly and dramatically changed in a moment.

In this Cube, the family first learns just how different their life will be from here on out; some handle the change better than others.

  1. Any ideas how to prepare for life changes, both sudden and slow?

Cube35 – The Story of Stories

Stories are powerful, but the primary educational systems in our world don’t explore story telling very much.

They also do not help students prepare for making decisions without to make decisions without complete information.

An idea is promoted that every question has a single correct answer, or at least the “best answer” according to the teacher.

The cube for today comes from The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb focusing on the major events that dramatically change the path we are on, like the first sighting of a black swan.
