Cube43 – Feed The Network

Are you part of a network?
What about the network that Google has?

When you do a search through Google, you help Google get better. When you click an ad though Google’s ad network, either on a Google.com site, or on another side, you help both google and whatever site you are on. If you create a site, you can add ads to your site & the more content you provide for Google, the more money you could make.

Now think of another network.

This cube comes from the book What Would Google Do? by Jeff Jarvis. He explores many topics with one of the common themes being:

Do what you do best & link to the rest.

See how Jeff explains a network effect paired with this concept, then share your thoughts, either on your site, our facebook page, or the comments below:

Starting Questions:

  1. What network are you involved with that creates more value for you then you put in, causing you to work harder to build it?
  2. Have you been involved in a group who tries to control everything involved with that group?

Cube32 – How to Game Google ?!?!?

Many people obsess about their rankings in Google searches. Maybe instead of spending time and lots of energy on SEO and other dark arts, look at what Google says they care about.

In this cube, Matt Cutts, Chief Google WebSpam Executioner, tells what Google is looking for, and moving towards.

Over a year after this cube from This Week in Google 30, the same message has come from Google over and over & they are more effective at the things they have talked about.

Now, compare what you think about vs what Google thinks about.
